CORDOVA COMMUNITY MEETING:
Copper River Basin Area Plan Informational Meeting
July 6th 5:30PM to 7:30PM

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water, Resources Assessment and Development Section has initiated the planning process to update the Copper River Basin Area Plan (CRBAP). The existing plan was adopted in 1986, and an update is necessary to incorporate new or updated resource information, account for changes in land ownership, and to reflect current and anticipated changes to physical, environmental, economic, and social factors in the area.

This plan will address the management of approximately 3.3 million acres of general state lands and waters within the plan boundary.


How you can take part:

First, review the current details of the Copper River Basin Area Plan at the Alaska DNR website.

Next, submit your comments on the plan by September 8.

Finally, plan to participate in the public comment meeting on July 6 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
There are two ways to participate:

Cordova Center

Attend the virtual meeting in person July 6 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Cordova Center City Council chamber. Please have typed statements and questions ready.

At home

Attend the virtual meeting in person July 6 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm from your home by computer, mobile device, or phone.
